About the firm

ALTAX Sp. z.o.o. started operating in 1988 since when its primary objective has been to produce chemical products for the protection of wood, walls and paint coatings protecting against microbiological corrosion. Our products range from decorative and protective compounds, through fire-proofing, fungicidal, mouldicidal and insecticidal compounds to specialist ones, for instance, algaecides.

All ALTAX compounds were developed in renowned Polish scientific institutes (Warsaw Building Research Institute, Faculty of Wood Technology at the Academy of Agriculture in Poznań, Warsaw Agricultural University) as well as in the company itself. Our products all possess the required certificates, technical approvals and licences for the production of biocidal compounds.

ALTAX products can compete successfully on price and quality with both foreign and domestic producers and also win accolades at trade fairs. Several of our products have won / accolades at the BUDMA trade fairs held in Poznań. In 1998 BORAMON received the Gold Medal, a feat repeated in 2001 by ALTAXIN.

With the necessity of Poland's integration into the European Union in mind, in 1998 ALTAX began introducing the ISO 9002 quality system. On 17th November 1999 the certification body of the Munich-based TUV Management Service GmbH awarded ALTAX the certificate confirming that the company had complied with the ISO 9002 norms for manufacturing of wood impregnants. On 20th January 2004 the ISO 9002:2000 certificate was awarded for the same area.
